Finalized on Sep. 30, 2015 rules were established revising the effluent limitation guidelines & standards for the Steam Electric Power Generating category. The rule prohibits discharge of ash transport water and sets limits on the levels of toxic metals that can be discharged from wet flue gas desulfurization (FGD) systems. In addition finalized on Dec. 19, 2014 another set of rules require coal operated steam generation plants to consider ways to eliminate ash ponds and minimize the use of process water in handling CCRs and wet FGD systems.  In addition, many uncategorized streams that used ash ponds need to be treated.  Click on the graphic above to see how Westech can assist you.
